At home diarrhea management for a vet-less Sunday morning.

Dogs only!
- Hold up all food x 12 hours.
- Encourage drinking water or fat free broth.
- After 12 hours fasting, then 12 hrs of toast, white bread, rice and broth.
- After 12 hours of bland intake, then give her dry food simply premoistened with water.
Medicine: Choose One: (not both)
- Immodium AD which is supposed to be “Loperamide 2mg” each. Give one caplet by mouth per 20lbs every 12 hours for 4 total doses.
- Or Pepto Bismol Liquid One teaspoon per 10lbs every 8 hours for 6 total doses. If not forming up in 48 hours the dogs need: Exam, lab check of poop, metronidazole, pro-pectalin, ondansetron or similar.
Stop treating at home and get to vet immediately if:
- Depression
- Appetite goes to nul
- Blood in poop
- Vomiting more than once or twice.
- Vomiting blood at all
- Hard belly
