I just don’t have the reaction time necessary to drive one car length behind the guy in front of me. And honestly I don’t think that most people do. And I think that half the time someone is perched on the other cars bumper, it’s purely absent-minded. But when I see it happening I give even more room so that when car number one brake checks car number two and there is a fender bender, I’m far enough back not to get included.
