During earths lifetime, whether you consider that billions of years or whatever, the earth has stored an unimaginable amount of sunlight energy in an unimaginable biomass, which has been stored safely within the earths crust. Energy that, if not compartmentalized in biomass underground, sunlight energy that would have simply convected on the earths surface keeping it an oven. Fast forward to now, we are taking a planetary-lifetime of stored energy out from under the ground and releasing it into our living space (again). Soon, billions of years of stored sunlight will once again be on the earths surface, AS IF it had never been tucked safely away at all.
