My house would be almost paid off by the time I retire on social security. I could just “make it” and have a retirement. Except I adopted a woman’s children to save them from an abusive (felony) father. She told me it was for the kids. And I did it. She lied. I will stop working at 65 broke, with a house note, living on social security and probably losing the house. She is 9 years younger than me and will live luxuriously til she retires because her children cost her nothing.
